India v England Latest Odds: Tourists on brink of remarkable second Test win

The recalled Monty took 10 wickets

Panesar tears through India's batsmen to set up an unlikely England victory

England stand on the brink of an unexpected second test win over India after twin centuries from Alastair Cook and Kevin Pietersen and a 10 wicket haul from the returning Monty Panesar.

Backed at a high of 7.87/1, the tourists trade at just 1.11/10 to take the Mumbai Test ahead of the fourth day of action after India's second innings crumbled in the face of Panesar's spin.

After taking five wickets in the first innings, the Sussex left arm spinner repeated the dose to despatch a succession of Indian batsmen back to the clubhouse as the home side put on just 117. Apart from Gautam Gambhir, who remains at the crease on 53, no recognised Indian batsman made more than 10 runs with Ravichandran Ashwin the next highest scorer with 11 runs.

The home side hold a slim 31 run lead with just three wickets to build a defendable total ahead of England's second innings.

With Panesar looking dangerous on subcontinent pitches and the second Test almost in the bag, England are suddenly a live runner in the Test Series Winner market where they can be backed at 4.216/5, from a high of 28.027/1. India, backed at a low of just 1.11/10, are now trading at 1.84/5.
