Lingfield Park plays host to racing on Tuesday.
Timeform preview an intriguing novices' chase at Lingfield on Tuesday...
Sire de Grugy was a smart handicap hurdler who has made a pleasing start to life over fences, winning 2m maiden on debut before finishing second to Captain Conan in Grade 2 novice at Cheltenham. The one to beat.
Aikideau was a fairly useful novice hurdler who won twice over 21f at Plumpton in January before even better third in Sandown handicap in March. Fell first on recent chase bow, but this should reveal more.
Cantlow was a useful handicap hurdler (third in Pertemps Final at Festival) who shaped well when -length second on recent 2m Warwick chase bow, jumping well and staying on for hands-and-heels. More to come.
Somerby was a point winner, but little form to name under Rules in both codes, well held in maiden chases at Fontwell and Exeter at up to 2m this autumn.
Dark And Dangerous was twice successful in juvenile hurdles last winter, and returned to form when 2 lengths third of 12 in handicap at Sandown last time. Likely to come up short on chase bow, however.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Sire de Grugy
2. Cantlow
3. Aikideau
Timeform Verdict: Sire de Grugy and Cantlow are the pair to concentrate on here, the former preferred reappearing quickly following his good second in a Cheltenham Grade 2 9 days ago.
