Timeform Irish SmartPlays: Highdownhill to follow up at Punchestown

The first of seven races at Punchestown today gets underway at 12:55.

There is an interesting jumps card at Punchestown today and we have picked out three more SmartPlays...

Highdownhill looked to have a bit in hand when opening his account over fences at this track last month and is capable of defying a ten-pound penalty in the 13:55. He is still well treated in relation to his hurdles form, won't be inconvenienced by the drop back in trip and is proven on heavy ground. Highdownhill is getting weight from all of his rivals here and remains unexposed over fences.

J. P. McManus and Niall "Slippers" Madden also look to hold strong claims in the handicap hurdle at 14:55 courtesy of Grange. This son of Vinnie Roe easily accounted for subsequent winner Shesonlyahorse at Tipperary last time and an eleven-pound rise may not be enough to prevent him from following up in a race that may not take much winning.

Caoimhe's Delight found only Moscow Chief too goo on her debut under Rules at Tipperary last time and a repeat of that performance should be enough to see her go one better in the bumper at 15:55. She ran out an easy winner of a point in April and she holds a fitness edge over Kymin's Way who looks the main danger on paper.
