Saeed Bin Suroor has two strong chances here
Timeform provide a runner-by-runner guide to a listed race from Kempton on Wednesday evening...
Layline has benefitted from the fitting of a hood and he won well under Graham Lee at Yarmouth (11.5f) last month. Plenty more on his plate at this level, however, and others preferred. Engaged 2.30 Redcar Tuesday.
Media Hype has progressed well this year, winning handicaps at Pontefract and York in the spring. Took another step up when third in Swedish Group 3 last time, and not one to take lightly now.
Modun progressed into a smart performer for Sir Michael Stoute in 2011. Back to form when third in September Stakes over C&D, and latest flop may have come too soon. Capable of bouncing back now.
Nebula Storm was useful in Ireland for John Oxx, but sold quite cheaply, and has shown only modest form for new yard over hurdles. Debatable if he can be competitive on polytrack debut.
Spring of Fame was as good as ever at Meydan earlier this year, winning once and runner-up on other 2 occasions. Below form on turf return at Newbury in September, but should fare better back on AW now.
Tappanappa's second of 2 wins for Andrew Balding came over C&D in March, and best effort for new yard when third to Handsome Man at Yarmouth in August. Below form last time, and flying too high here.
Viking Storm has taken form to a new level this year, gaining fourth win from 5 starts over 1m at Doncaster in September. More to do at this level, but progress shows no sign of abating, and respected.
Sequence is a half-sister to Sinndar who progressed to win handicaps at Thirsk and Newmarket in the summer. Not quite in same form since, though, and needs to settle better if she's to get involved.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Spring of Fame
2. Viking Storm
3. Modun
Timeform View: Spring of Fame can be forgiven a modest effort on turf after a break last time, and is taken to bounce back here. Stablemate Modun is also respected, but the main danger looks to be the progressive Viking Storm.
