Friday's Timeform Daily comes from Musselburgh
Timeform provide a runner-by-runner guide to an interesting handicap chase at Musselburgh...
Relax enhanced his excellent strike-rate over fences since coming over from France when landing a 2m Southwell handicap in May. Possibly capable of better still and claims if fully tuned up on return.
Red Tanber was most progressive when landing 5 handicap chases last season (including 4 at this venue). Career-high mark to contend with on return, but foolish to think he has reached peak of his powers.
Balding Banker is a bumper/2m hurdles winner who offered plenty to work with starting out over fences for new yard when fourth at Hexham last month. Likely to improve now tackling a handicap in this sphere
Fred Bojangles is a free-going C&D winner who has been below best for some time, but signs of a revival second try in cheekpieces at Carlisle in October, so possibilities if building on that
Dica matched the form of shock win on hurdling bow when third over fences at Sedgefield (2m) in May. Not scaled same heights since, falling at Towcester last month. Others less risky.
Blazin White Face is a point winner who landed a couple of 2m handicap chases at Perth in the summer. Poor effort when reappearing over 3m at that venue in September, but may fare better back over shorter now.
Locked Inthepocket won twice over hurdles since opening account over fences at Ayr (2m) in February 2011. Career best when touched off in that sphere last month and commands respect now back chasing.
One Fine Morning jumped much better when opening chasing account at Killarney (2m) in August 2011. Good fourth second comeback run at Market Rasen (2m) in September, and return to shorter will suit.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Locked Inthepocket
2. One Fine Morning
3. Relax
Timeform View: Locked Inthepocket could be the one to side with on his chasing return following a career-best effort when touched off over hurdles last month. One Fine Morning's latest fourth at Market Rasen is working out extremely well and he is feared most, ahead of the returning Relax.
