On fire! But is Suarez a genuine challenger for top scorer honours?
Both Premier League games end in draws as current and former Liverpool strikers get on the scoresheet
Luis Suarez is in a hot run of form and he rescued a point for Liverpool with another Premier League goal to peg back Newcastle in today's late kick-off.
Alan Pardew's men had gone ahead through a Yohann Cabaye effort late in the first-half but were undone by a bit of genius from the Uruguayan who pulled down a long ball to slot past Tim Krul. With seven goals to his name, Suarez is one behind Robin van Persie in the scoring charts and looks like the Dutchman's main rival for golden boot honours. Suarez is trading around 7.413/2 to finish top of the pile.
Newcastle's cause was not helped by Fabricio Collocini, who was sent off for a nasty studs-up challenge on Suarez late on. A red card traded at a high of 15.014/1 while the draw was backed at 4.77/2.
QPR and Reading fought out a 1-1 draw in the early kick-off - a result that does little for either teams' hopes of avoiding relegation.
Former QPR defender Kaspars Gorkss put the Royals ahead on 16 minutes and his team held the lead until Djibril Cisse equalised midway through the second 45 minutes. Reading were backed at 1.618/13 to win, a victory which would have been their first of the campaign. As it is neither team has tasted victory in the Premier League yet this season.
QPR, though bottom of the table, are 3.02/1 to be playing Championship football next year; Reading trade at 1.75/7 to go down.
