Premier League Results: Arsenal slain by RvP-powered United

Hands up, I did it. RvP 'celebrates' scoring the opener

It's all too easy for United in the early kick-off as Arsenal are brushed aside

It always looked like a big ask for the 2012/13 vintage of the Arsene Wenger era to get anything from today's lunchtime trip to Manchester United, and so it proved with the Londoners going down 2-1.

The pre-match build-up was dominated by Robin van Persie and the former Arsenal striker inevitably popped up to score the opener, seizing on a Thomas Vermaelen slip-up to reward first scorer backers at a high of 5.79/2.

And the misery for Gunners fans was compounded when their new hero Jack Wilshere was sent off on the second league game of his comeback. A red card traded at 4.84/1.

A late Santi Carzola goal hit backers of under 2.5 goals at Betfair's basement price of 1.011/100 but rewarded overs backers at 50.049/1. The final score was also backed at 50.049/1.

United, who assumed Premier League favouritism last week, are in to 2.6213/8 to win the title. Arsenal can be backed at 46.045/1.
