How key was that Victor Moses header at home to Shakhtar Donetsk last time out? Without it Chelsea would be without a win for the entire month and, more importantly, facing a very tough task to qualify from Group E.
As it is they are not definitely in the knockout stages, though at 1.42/5 the Betfair market clearly expects them to make the last 16 for another year.
But there is still a bit of juice in that price and defeat at Juventus would test everyone's nerves at the club.
And, in the Serie A leaders, Roberto di Matteo's side face a very hard game indeed. A point behind Chelsea and Shakthar in Group E, the Old Lady are playing catch up after three draws and need to beat the Blues to give themselves a chance of making the lucrative later stages of the competition.
Both teams are stacked with talent and it will be a very competitive match, but winning is an absolute must for Juve and, with the visitors out of form, I fancy the home side to land the three points.
While the result alone won't be seen as a disaster - the Blues should be able to beat Nordsjaelland comfortably enough in the final group fixture - another game without a win will not go down well at all. Di Matteo is under no illusions about how Abramovich works. He needs a result, but without John Terry I don't see it happening.
Even without their talisman at the back I still feel we're in for a tight game with few goals, possibly just one in the second half, deciding it.
