Home and Away: From Brad to Worse for Boothroyd

Phil Parkinson will be delighted with his side's recent form.

Jonno Turner turns his attentions to the FA Cup, and the Argentinian Primera Division, as he aims to build on a winner yesterday.

We're off to West Yorkshire for our first pick of the day, as Bradford welcome Northampton to Valley Parade in an FA Cup First Round Replay, with the winner booking themselves a Second Round encounter with League One Brentford.

The original game finished 1-1 in a largely even affair - but both sides will be keen to nick a win in this return fixture, and keep their FA Cup dream alive this season.

The hosts have been in excellent form of late, and boss Phil Parkinson has seen them lose just one of their last nine outings - a run which has helped lift the Bantams into fourth place in League Two.

Eight wins and three draws from their last 12 home games indicates that Bradford are more than capable of mixing it with the big boys at this level, and with Northampton currently lurking in a mid-table position, the hosts will be confident of securing the win here.

Four clean sheets from their last half a dozen outings shows that the home side are stable and consistent at the back, and that will stand them in good stead here as they welcome a visiting side which scored four at Accrington on Saturday.

But Northampton aren't the only side who came out of the weekend smiling - a 2-0 win away at Aldershot on Saturday will have boosted confidence at Valley Parade, and Parkinson will be desperate for his side to build on that impressive result here.

The away side have won just two of their last 13 games away from Sixfields, and boss Aidy Boothroyd will be keen to correct that slide here.

But 13 goals conceded in their last five on the road suggests that the visitors have issues defensively which could play a key part in the outcome of this game tonight.

Northampton will be particularly wary of the threat caused by in-form Bradford striker Nakhi Wells, who has smashed four in three games against the Cobblers of late.

Over to Argentina now for our next pick, as Estudiantes travel to struggling Argentinos Juniors, looking to ramp up the pressure on the top six.

The away side go into this game in seventh place in the division, and are just two points behind nearest neighbours Boca Juniors ahead of this tie.

Diego Cagna will be keen for his side to continue a run which has seen them lose just two of their last seven outings, and six undefeated from eight on the road suggests that Los Pincharratas have more than enough to nick three points here.

Three clean sheets from their last six away from Estadio Unico de la Plata shows that the Red and Whites are solid enough to pick up points away from home, and they will want to maintain that impressive defensive record in this game.

Their hosts have endured a miserable start to the season, and go into this game having failed to win in their last seven outings.

That has left the Bichos Colorados in 17th place in the table - and barring a massive upturn in form, their future looks bleak this season.

Even worse for the Buenos Aires side is that they have only managed to score one solitary goal in five outings - that's seven and a half hours of football - and boss Leonardo Astrada will be desperate for his charges to be more productive in front of goal.

But Estudiantes are unbeaten in four encounters with their hosts - winning three of those - and I have this one down as another away win.

Bet 2: Estudiantes (AWAY) @ 2.68
