Home and Away: Back Ronnie's Rovers on the road.

Ronnie Moore will be desperate for his Rovers side to get back to winning ways tonight.

Jonno Turner picks a domestic clash and a Champions League encounter as his two backs today

We're off to the north east for our first pick of the day - and Hartlepool welcome Tranmere to Victoria Park, looking to arrest a slide which has seen them fail to win since the 1st of September.

The hosts have endured a nightmare start to the season, and have not tasted victory in 18 of their last 19 outings - a run which saw boss Neale Cooper removed from his post, and Micky Barron appointed at the helm.

But the new man doesn't seem to have had much impact on his sides fortunes - and a 6-1 loss at lower league Chesterfield on Saturday saw the Monkey Hangers reach new lows.

The hosts looked poor in that game, and the pressure is on them to put in an improved performance here in front of their own fans - but they welcome one of League One's in-form side to County Durham, and will be nervous of conceding another heavy defeat here.

The visitors go into this game sitting in third place in the division following mixed results in the last couple of weeks, and boss Ronnie Moore will have pinpointed this clash as one which his side need to win.

Rovers are just one point from the top of the table, and will be keen to ramp up the pressure on their neighbours by chalking up another three points in this game.

And three wins from their last four suggests that the away side have enough quality to punish their hosts here, having scored 10 goals in their last four away from Prenton Park.

Due to the postponement of their FA Cup tie at the weekend, Tranmere will be well-rested and re-focused, and I think that could be in the outcome of this encounter.

The last time these two sides met at Victoria Park, the visitors ran out 2-0 winners - and I have this one down as another hard-fought win for Ronnie Moore's side.

Over to Portugal for our final tip now, and we're focusing on the Champions League Group G - as Benfica host Spartak Moscow at the Estadio da Luz.

The hosts go into this game sitting bottom of the group - and it is vitally important that they secure three points here if they are to stand any chance of challenging for that second place position in this mini-league.

The Aguias are without a win in their opening three outings in this competition, and a loss in Moscow a couple of weeks ago will have hit them hard - but they do have real quality within their squad, and boss Jorge Jesus will be eyeing three points here.

The home side have won seven and drawn one of their last nine on their own patch, and will be keen to put in a good performance in front of their own fans here.

Visitors Spartak go into this game having lost two of their last three on the road, and boss Unai Emery will be desperate to correct that blip.

But just one win from their last four Champions League games suggests that the Spartachi struggle at the highest level of club competition, and five without a win from their last seven European games away from the Luzhniki Stadium indicates that they could find this game hard going.

Barcelona are running away with this group, but the runner up position is there to be won - and these two sides and Celtic all have a chance of securing their place in the next round of this competition.

But a win for the home side is a must - and I think that the home win is worth a back here.
