Against All Odds: Le Havre to get a result at Caen

Le Havre's Dystel Zola has one goal to his name this season

Caen entertain Le Havre in Ligue Two tonight and Paul Robinson is somewhat surprised by their short price given that they've lost their last three home games.

There are plenty of decent fixtures this week with the Champions League and Europa League scheduled so I'm confident we can get a fair few winners.

Caen have been somewhat of a yoyo club of late and that was evidenced again last season when they suffered relegation from the top flight for the third time in 10 years. They have made a positive start in bouncing straight back and a win this evening would see them move into the promotion places.

Franck Dumas' side have been struggling at home of late though; after opening up with convincing victories over Auxerre and Clermont, they have lost their last three in a row, scoring just a single goal. The defeat to Le Mans was particularly poor as they were up against 10 men for most of the second half.

Le Havre are down in 14th place but they have actually lost less times than Caen. Clearly too many draws have been the issue, but avoiding defeat is all we need for us to be in clover, something they've managed in each of their last five fixtures.

Cdric Daury's men have travelled much better than they did last season; four draws and two defeats from half a dozen matches, and they have only played one team who currently occupy the bottom half of the division.

The last competitive match between these two finished in a draw and I can see something similar tonight. Caen may well achieve promotion this year but their current home form is a concern and Le Havre are very difficult to beat. Odds of 1.981/1 are just too short about a home win, and that's why I'm making Caen my lay of the day.

Recommended Bet
Lay Caen against Le Havre @ 1.981/1
