Will Luis Suarez be calling the Etihad home next season?
You've seen the headline but if I told you that it was Rob Shepherd in the Daily Mail who 'understands' than Man City are 'considering' a bid, you'll guess that I'm not totally convinced but still...
Manchester City are planning an audacious move for former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, according to the Daily Mail.
Suarez hit a brace in Barcelona's 2-1 Champions League last-16, first-leg tie win at the Etihad Stadium last week but the tabloid says he could be turning out in a City shirt next season.
The Uruguayan left Liverpool for Barcelona last summer but has seemingly failed to live up to expectations, despite coach Luis Enrique's insistence that he is happy with Suarez's contribution to the side.
Barca paid 75million for Suarez and the report claims they will make a tidy profit on the forward as City are lining up a 100million offer.
However, there are, inevitably, stumbling blocks and the fact Barcelona are under a transfer embargo until the January 2016 transfer window means the Catalan giants cannot sign a replacement until the middle of next season.
Fortunately the Mail have found a solution as they claim a "straight swap of Sergio Aguero and Suarez is not out of the question".
The future of Radamel Falcao remains unclear but it seems unlikely he will join Manchester United permanently when his loan spell from Monaco ends in the summer, despite the fact there is a deal in place that was agreed when he made the temporary move.
The Mirror say the striker's agent, Jorge Mendes, will meet with United officials this week to find out their long-term intentions, while The Sun have claimed resurgent Spanish outfit Valencia hope to sign Falcao when his loan stint comes to an end.
United have also been heavily linked with PSV star Memphis Depay, who was a member of the Netherlands World Cup squad under current Old Trafford boss Louis van Gaal, but the latest speculation claims Spurs are leading the race for the 21-year-old winger.
The north Londoners failed with a 15million bid last summer but PSV have accepted the player is keen to leave the Eredivisie and are ready to cash in on their academy graduate at the end of the current campaign.
Finally, Newcastle United were tipped to bring in a 'marquee' striker last summer but a deal failed to materialise. However, the St James' Park outfit could make a significant addition to their frontline at the end of the season if The Sun are to be believed.
They suggest Newcastle are lining up a bid for Sevilla star Carlos Bacca and the Spanish side could be prepared to allow the Colombian to move on for less than his 25million release clause.
