Mechelen look set to banish Cercle to a relegation playoff...
It's the final day of the season in Belgium and Reuben Thomas casts his eye over the clashes at the bottom of the table as two teams fight to avoid the dreaded relegation playoffs...
Waasland-Beveren vs Lokeren
Sunday 13:30
It's an East Flanders derby as Waasland-Beveren take on Lokeren at the Freethiol Stadium.
Waasland-Beveren are looking nervously over their shoulder in the Jupiler League, going into the last day they remain one place and one point above the relegation places. It's in their hands but to be sure of survival they'll need to win.
Winning certainly hasn't come easy recently with just one victory in their last eleven and having lost their last three straight. Worryingly playing at home this season has brought little relief where they have only managed twelve goals all season.
One thing is for sure, if it wasn't for their star striker Renaud Emond they would be far adrift by now, he has amassed an impressive thirteen goal haul, six coming since the turn of the year.
Visitors Lokeren have less motivation for this game considering they look set to stay in eight position irrespective of the result.
They have had a solid year although found results and goals hard to come by on their travels. Vanaken, De Pauw and Leye have all performed admirably but they'll need to reinvest in their attack if they are to fight for the Championship playoffs next season.
Waasland-Beveren certainly need the points more in this one but they have an awful head to head record against Lokeren. Expect a very nervy low scoring game with the hosts showing just enough fight to gain a point.

Back the draw @ 3.412/5
Back under 2.5 Goals @ 1.875/6
Cercle Brugge vs KV Mechelen
If Waasland-Beveren loose then Cercle Bruge have the opportunity to save themselves if they can overcome KV Mechelen at the Jan Breydel Stadium
Even with all the motivation in the world it's hard to see Cercle Brugge producing a level of performance to earn a win. They have been dreadful recently loosing six out of their last seven and manager Arnar Vidarsson can't seem to lift his team.
At home they have been particularly poor, they have only managed nine home goals in the league all campaign.
The Bad news for the Cercle fans is that Sunday's opponents KV Mechelen are in decent form, unbeaten in six and having won their last three straight.
Manager Aleksandar Jankovic has made good progress with his team this season, the Antwerp outfit have looked solid. They have found results hard to come by away from home but did manage a win away at Zulte last time and will be looking to finish their season on a high with another win on Sunday.
Recommended bets:
Back KV Mechelen to win @ 2.6213/8
