Coritiba vs Corinthians
Sunday 20:00
First up is a Southern Brazilian showdown with Corinthians making the trip down to Curitiba to take on inconsistent Coritiba.
After twelve games, the home side are struggling badly with just two wins leaving them with work to do to escape the relegation zone, albeit at an early stage of the season.
A win last time out away at Gremio will give the Coxa some confidence but that alone is unlikely to be able to stop second placed Corinthians who have won four out of their last six and have lost just once all season.
The away side look hellbent on preventing a repeat of last season's disappointing tenth place, although that was off the back of a draining 2012 campaign winning the Copa Libertadores and the World Club Championship.
The man to watch on both sides will be a Brazilian wearing the coveted number ten shirt, Alex for Coritiba and Jdson for the away side. Both have European experience with Fenerbahce and Shakhtar Donetsk respectively.
With four goals apiece, you would expect the game changing moments of class to come from the attacking midfielders.
The absence of ex-Bayern Munich striker Paulo Guerrero through suspension may blunt the Corinthians attack but not enough to save Coritiba who have a defence kindly described as wobbly.
On the other side, Keirrison who signed for Barcelona and never played a game, might as well be suspended, with just two starts and one goal to his name, there have been more fearsome Brazilians to wear the number nine.
With only six goals conceded, Corinthians have the joint best defensive record in the league, which combined with Coritiba's poor goal scoring return of a goal every two games points towards a clean sheet for the Sao Paulo boys.
Corinthians have done the double over Coritiba the past two seasons and the sensible bet would be to back them to notch another comfortable win Sunday evening to extend their unbeaten streak to eight.

Houston Dynamo vs DC United
Monday 01:00
With the national team's gutsy performance in Brazil still fresh in the memory, combined with multiple Premier League sides touring the USA, MLS has re-started with renewed fervour.
Houston Dynamo are in a bad way, with twenty games played they are languishing at the bottom end of the table in eighteenth with only five wins and feeling lucky there is no relegation in MLS.
DC United by contrast are a point off the top of the table with a game in hand over leaders and champions Sporting Kansas City and are looking to win their first championship since 2004.
A ten year gap is too long to wait for MLS's joint most successful club.
On the face of it, the statistics do not make pretty reading for Houston fans: the Orange Crush have conceded at least two in their last eight games, forty in total and DC have won their last four scoring ten in the process.
Argentinian goal machine Fabian Espindola is the main man for DC United netting seven from fourteen whereas Houston's big hope for a game changing bit of magic comes from ex-Derby County attacking midfielder Giles Barnes or young American hotshot striker Will Bruin.
However, and this could be a big however, Houston have won their last seven regular season games against DC, the away side's last victory came in Washington in April 2009. In fact, DC United have never won at Houston since the Texan's formation in December 2005.
Streaks like that are not to be underestimated, as much as it goes against the statistics, you have to at least consider the possibility that Houston are going to snatch a point here and continue holding this hoodoo over the boys from the capital.
