Our first SmartPlay runs in the opening contest at Windsor as we stick to the tried-and-tested formula of backing a Richard Hannon-trained, Richard Hughes-ridden juvenile. Constantine only managed to beat one home on debut in a Nottingham maiden, but that race has already worked out well and there should be plenty of improvement to come from the two-year-old colt. He shaped with a degree of promise on that occasion, simply looking a bit green and inexperienced, and a lot better is expected with that run under his belt.

Come On Blue Chip took advantage of a lower turf mark to register success here on his penultimate start and he can make amends for a narrow defeat last time by winning the ten-furlong handicap at 19:30. The suspicion had been that he was a much better performer on the all-weather, and up until two starts ago his only victories had been achieved at Wolverhampton, but he showed that he was effective on turf by winning over C&D and backed up the impression he was well-handicapped on this surface by giving another good account last time. There is little reason to suspect he won't produce another bold show.

Royal Challis got off the mark over five furlongs recently and he should be able to follow up this evening in the six-furlong minor event at 20:30. Richard Hannon appears to have found a nice opportunity for his lightly-raced three-year-old and it would be little surprise were he capable of better given his unexposed profile. His main danger would appear to be Grand Denial but he was seen to maximum effect at Doncaster, getting the run of the race in a contest which appeared to lack depth, and could struggle against Richard Hannon's contender.
