Timeform assess the runners at Ripon

Timeform run the rule over the contenders in a competitive six-furlong handicap at Ripon on Wednesday...

Yeeoow is a dual polytrack winner who was better than ever when getting up late to land a 15-runner 6f handicap at Ascot a month ago. 4 lb rise still leaves him very competitive.

Klynch bagged a hat-trick of handicaps at up to 7f last summer and added another 2 more to his tally last month (first over C&D). Chester probably not his track latest, but never won off mark this high.

Misplaced Fortune has paid his way in handicaps down the years, adding another 2 to his tally in 2012, the first of which over C&D. Nothing wrong with latest fourth at this venue so likely to give his running.

Pearl Ice was most unlucky at Thirsk before impressive win in this contest 12 months ago. Hasn't made the expected progress since, which is why he finds himself back on same mark for repeat bid.

Fast Shot scored twice under testing conditions last term, and has worked his way back to top form this time around, third over C&D prior to a narrow defeat at hands of Klynch at Thirsk last month.

Ziggy Lee won a 5f Newmarket handicap in May 2010 but missed all of 2011 and restrcited to just 2 runs last year, the second of which an eye-catching effort. Interesting on debut for new yard.

Dick Bos got off the mark at third attempt in a 6f maiden at Windsor last October. Much better effort in handicaps for new yard when chasing home Klynch over C&D and heavy ground perhaps an excuse since.

Docofthebay was a Glorious Goodwood winner in his younger days and showed he's still very competitive from his reduced mark when runner-up back at 6f at Goodwood last time. Will need another strong pace.

Love Island is a strong-travelling sprinter who produced career best when narrowly landing 15-runner Doncaster handicap (5f) on return in April. Stil in top form judged on his excellent third over C&D latest.

Towbee improved in first half of 2012, winning 3 sprint handicaps in the mud, and well ridden when adding to tally at Thirsk last month. 4 lb rise and competition for the lead potential stumbling blocks.

Minalisa enjoyed a good first season, winning twice and finishing runner-up on another 2 occasions from just 6 starts. Below expectations on reappearance at Southwell, but remains with potential back on turf.

Bonnie Charlie took advantage of a favourable mark to win Thirsk handicap last September and sprung to life from nowhere when successful at Haydock recently. Being held up in a strongly-run race helped matters.

Queens Revenge made a winning debut over 5f here in 2011, but lightly raced since, restricted to just 3 runs last year and no impact in as many starts this time around.

Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Yeeoow
2. Dick Bos
3. Minalisa

Timeform View: An extremely open and good-quality sprint handicap. Dick Bos and Minalisa are still relatively low mileage, with the former taken to reverse C&D form with Klynch from last month, but Yeeoow arrives here on the back of a career best, and is the tentative pick to score again.
