Mr David was revived by blinkers when scoring at Newmarket (7f) in August. Ended campaign on a low note but at least stepped up on return when fifth at Lingfield penultimate start. No impression at Chester latest.

Bayleyf improved through 2011, winning 6f nursery at Glorious Goodwood. Been given big chance by the handicapper after quiet 2012. Excuses for Lingfield defeat in January but well held on comeback.

Take A Note had a good season in 2012, winning 3 times over 6f. No match for progressive Centrifugal over 7f when last seen in September. Long break to overcome and needs to improve.

Good Luck Charm finally got off the mark and in impressive fashion at Kempton final start last year. Should have won at Lingfield last time, travelling smoothly but not getting clear run. Interesting contender.

Excuse To Linger comfortably landed odds in 6f Wolverhampton maiden in September. Caught the eye on return over 7f, and ran well over an extended mile last time, pulling hard and not seeing out trip. Respected at 7f. 

Jonnie Skull is enjoying a busy, but profitable campaign, and brought tally for the year to 3 with back-to-back wins at Yarmouth. Benefited from a well-judged ride on penultimate start and below form latest.

Macaabra won handicaps at Catterick and over this C&D on last 2 starts, in latter making all for comfortable 7-length success. Should complete hat-trick under 6lb penalty.

Timeform Verdict: Macaabra travelled well and made all over C&D last week and looks well in under his penalty. Should the selection fail to recover from the relatively quick turnaround it leaves the door open for the the Gary Moore trained Good Luck Charm who was unlucky last time or perhaps the Noseda runner Excuse To Linger whose running style suggests he will be more suited by this trip.
