Clouds of Mist runs at Fakenham today
Today's Follow The Money comes from Fakenham and Southwell...
We start at Fakenham and in the 14:00 Ethics Girl has been backed from an early 8.05n/a in to 5.24/1. John Berry's seven year old was prolific on the flat winning four times and being placed on 9 other occasions. The mare has only had the two runs over hurdles, the first was a promising effort here at Fakenham when running well until a mistake 3 out might have cost her, she battled on well to only be beaten six lengths in the end. She ran a poor race at Southwell next time out but she was eased when beaten that day. The better ground today could suit her more than many of her rivals and her conditional jockey also claims a useful 7lb.
Over to Southwell we go and in the 14:15 Reasonable Force has been supported in to 9.28/1 from 1514/1. Looking at the bare form you would worry, beaten a total of 237 lengths in his 6 runs over fences he has been struggling. That said he had won over hurdles beating a good yardstick in the shape of The Weatherman. In his last three runs he has started at 9/1, 6/1 and 3/1 so its clear connections think there is a win in him over fences and it could be he might have just needed time to acclimatise to the larger obstacles.
Back at Fakenham for the 15:00, the race has seen a negative move for Susan Gardner's Clouds Of Mist now trading at 2.9215/8 from 2.61n/a. The lightly raced eight year old won last time at Cartmel under Lucy Gardner but looking at her form she can be very inconsistent having only put together two good runs over hurdles. Those two runs were on soft and heavy going and with decent ground at Fakenham todays its clear to see why users were keen to take her on at 2/1 and shorter.
