Follow The Money: Cash for Bapak suggests good run expected

Chester is the venue for two of today's FTM selections

We start the day at Chester in the 14.10 Maiden Stakes where there has been strong support for Atlantic Affair from 3.3512/5 in to 2.568/5. Mark Johnston's two-year-old is having her fifth start today having shown improving form culminating in a close second at Leicester last month. This filly by Clodovil has led on all four starts which is a tactic that will suit at this quick track. With a good draw and favoured going, the strong support suggests Atlantic Affair could break her maiden tag today.

Our lay of the day can be found in the 15.00 Catterick, where Tomintoul Magic has drifted out to 2.68/5 from 2.226/5. This three-year-old filly has been keen in all her starts, wearing a hood right from the first go, suggesting she's a keen sort at home as well as on the track. Sir Henry Cecil's runner was a well beaten favourite on her last start finishing over 15 lengths off the winner, where she took a strong hold again. Today's drop in trip will help, but with her form seeming to be getting worse and the lack of market support, she could be worth taking on today.

We head back over to Chester for the second positive of the day, in the 17.05 Bapak Sayang has received steady support from a high of 9.28/1 in to 7.06/1. This 3-year-old colt is having his seventh start and is looking for his second career win having won a maiden over 6f on his second start in September last year. Kevin Ryan's charge didn't appear to stay over the longer trip of a mile and has been showing improving form over 6f on his last two starts at Newmarket in Class 2 handicaps. This front runner will be well suited to the tight track at Chester, and with a good draw and a drop in class, the money suggests a win at the minimum trip could be on the cards today.
