One of Richard's bets is in action at Plumpton
Richard Hoiles provides you with his best bets from Wolverhampton and Plumpton...
It is always frustrating on a quiet racing day when two horses you have been interested in backing turn up in the same race. That is the case in the 14.00 at Wolverhampton with KINGSVILLE and SAND GROUSE. The reason for Kingsville is pretty obvious as he is potentially better than his Nottingham third where he met trouble and finished ahead of Sand Grouse. However, it is worth noting that the latter lost all chance at the start and deserves marking up significantly. Coupled with the fact that he also was hampered here the time before and is the bigger price, Sand Grouse gets the nod with a smaller bet on Kingsville to save the stake.
The jumping action today is a far cry from Cheltenham but a small interest in ZELOS DICTATOR (14.50 Plumpton) could pay dividends. A moody hurdler, he clearly hated chasing when last seen but Sean Curran does well with horses moving into his care and today he runs off the same mark as when last successful over today's CD. The cheekpieces which he wore that day are reapplied here and providing Beggars Opera does not prove a wolf in sheep's clothing it does not look a strong race.
Recommended Bets:
Back SAND GROUSE @ 9.28/1 in the 14.00 Wolverhampton with stake saved on KINGSVILLE @ 5.49/2
Back ZELOS DICTATOR @ 10.5n/a in the 14.50 Plumpton
