Timeform Daily: Wednesday, Exeter 14:10

Exeter Racecourse.

Timeform provide a runner-by-runner guide to an intriguing handicap hurdle at Exeter on Wednesday...

Five Dream has been revitalised by a return to hurdling around this time last year, finding only Big Buck's too strong in couple of graded contests. Well below par in the spring, and returns on a stiff-enough mark.

Alfie Sherrin is a smart hurdler who caught the eye over timber before winning valuable handicap chase at Cheltenham. Cracking effort in Irish National the following month, and fitness the key factor here on return.

Captain Sunshine looked a smart prospect at back end of last season when landing a 2m novice at Cheltenham despite mistakes. Seemed in need of the run in handicap back there last month, so remains with potential.

Stars du Granits was a fairly useful juvenile hurdler in 2010, and justified support on reappearance when a ready winner at Taunton last month. Not in same form when a remote second 10 days later, and now up 5 lb.

Moorland Sunset got off mark at second time of asking over hurdles here (17f) last December, but hasn't come close to repeating that since, done with before 3 out on recent reappearance.

Lundy Sky was progressive in bumpers and confirmed the promise of his hurdling debut when a ready winner of C&D novice back in March 2011. Fair effort despite mistakes 7 months later, but again absent since.

Amigo is an ex-French gelding who ran to a fairly useful level over hurdles/fences for Richard Chotard at up to 23f. Makes reappearance for a very successful stable, and the market should guide.

Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Captain Sunshine
2. Alfie Sherrin
3. Five Dream

Timeform Verdict: Alfie Sherrin, Five Dream and Amigo all make their reappearances for top yards, but Captain Sunshine looked a smart prospect at times last season, and should benefit enormously for his return run at Cheltenham last month, so he's preferred.
