Saga de Tercey's form took off over hurdles when fitted with blinkers earlier this year, winning 2m novices here and Sedgefield (2). Off 5 months, folded tamely at Wetherby recently and headgear removed now.

Jeu de Roseau is a three-time winner over hurdles, improved effort to land 2m Sedgefield handicap in September 2011. Below best on Flat, but creditable third at Wetherby (2m) last month and holds each-way claims.

Merrydown put up respectable efforts when placed twice over hurdles at up to 23f this summer. Off 4 months and well backed, ran no sort of race at Wetherby last month, but probably worth another chance.

Monetary Fund was a useful for Nicky Henderson in 2010/11. Not so good since joining Venetia Williams, though pair of runner-up efforts off reduced marks this summer suggest he's one to be interested in now.

Ryton Runner got off mark over hurdles in 3m Perth novice in September, racing freely and forging clear. Not in same form at Kelso since, but dangerous to discount for in-form yard.

Solway Bay improved when winning for second time over fences at Perth (3m) in July 2011 and belatedly matched that form when runner-up at Kelso last month. Races off same mark back over timber here. Respected.

Flying Doctor got right back to best when bagging brace of handicap hurdles at up to 3m in August. Below par twice since, though, most recently over fences, and others preferred.

Everaard was much improved to complete a hat-trick over hurdles/fences here (3m) in January/February. Not so good since, including on recent Newcastle return, though now back below last winning mark.

Purcell's Bridge made the frame in couple of Irish bumpers last spring, but much improved when winning 14-runner conditionals handicap at Wetherby (2m) last week and can race from same mark here.

Timeform Verdict: Purcell's Bridge holds outstanding claims at the weights, racing from the same mark from which he landed a conditionals event at Wetherby last week. The resurgent Monetary Fund also looks well treated at present and is the main danger.
