Sunday's Timeform Daily comes from Ffos Las
Timeform examine each runner in a staying hurdle at Ffos Las...
Le Beau Bai is a thorough stayer who posted a very useful effort when landing the Welsh National in December. Fell early at Ascot a week ago, and this may well be a confidence booster prior to a return to fences.
Weekend Millionair benefited from a more patient ride but didn't need to improve to supplement last season's maiden hurdle win at Wincanton a fortnight ago. Revised mark does demand more, but couldn't rule that out.
Siberion Tiger is not one to trust implicitly, but 2 from 3 over fences in 2011/12. Looked rusty after 15 months off at Stratford in September, and this will reveal more.
Wayward Glance was fit from the Flat when off mark over hurdles at Uttoxeter in July (visored). Added to that at Worcester in September prior to a desperate reversal on handicap bow despite typically going in snatche
Velator was a rapid improver at the beginning of 2012, value for extra when completing hat-trick at Newbury in March (tied up late on). Up another 15 lb, but type to go on progressing this season.
Stow is temperamental but did bag brace of 3m handicaps in 2010/11. Again held back by atttitude in light campaign last season, and opposable on reappearacne still above last winning mark.
What Er Say is a point winner who landed heavy-ground 2m novice at Fontwell in January. Improved form on last month's handicap bow despite finding 19f too sharp, so that bodes well back up in trip.
Tenby Jewel opened his account over hurdles at twelfth attempt at Newton Abbot (2m) in September. Predictably well held in Grade 2 when falling 3 out last month, and assessor now looks firmly in control.
Valley Lad is a bumper winner who was placed all 3 starts over hurdles for Tim Vaughan towards the end of 2011. Off 7 months and worryingly shaped as if amiss on handicap bow for new yard in September.
Corso Palladio was much improved over hurdles for this stable in summer/autumn of 2010. Hinted at a revival second start back from lengthy absence at Newton Abbot in September, but let down by jumping last time.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Velator
2. Weekend Millionair
3. What Er Say
Timeform View: Recent winner Weekend Millionair needs considering again back in handicap company, but the assessor couldn't catch up with Velator earlier this year, and there's a strong chance he'll progress again this season, so he's preferred. What Er Say completes the shortlist back up in trip.
