Home and Away: Cesena to win relegation battle

Cesena boss Pierpaolo Bisoli

Italy and Germany are the venue of choice for Jonno Turner today as he brings us Tuesday's instalment of Home and Away...

We're off to Italy for our first pick, and Cesena is the venue as two sides in the Serie B relegation places battle it out, aiming to put some space between themselves and the dropzone.

The hosts, managed by Pierpaolo Bisoli, go into this game in 18th place with just nine points from their opening 11 games - but their form at the Stadio Dino Manuzzi has actually been fairly impressive in recent weeks, and they are unbeaten in their last four in front of their own fans.

And the Cavallucci Marini will be keen to maintain that positive form, in order to move back up the table and put themselves right back into the mix to secure their place back in the top tier.

Three clean sheets from their last four on their own patch indicates that Bisoli has got his defence well-drilled and more than capable of holding out their opponents this evening, but with two consecutive draws in their last two home games, he will be keen for his side to up performance levels and begin to turn one point into three.

Visitors Grosseto have endured a nightmarish start to the season, and currently prop up the rest of the division in bottom place with just four points from their opening 11 outings.

Just one win from a dozen games indicates that there is something majorly wrong down at the Stadio Olimpico Carlo Zecchini - and just two clean sheets from their last 10 away from home suggests that Mario Somma has some hard work to do defensively.

The away side have lost five from their previous eight games on the road, and that will have knocked confidence in the Grifone camp ahead of this one.

A win here could move the hosts up towards mid-table, and I think that the relegated side have the quality to punish their out of sorts opponents here.

Bet 1: Cesena (HOME) @ 2.285/4

Turning our attentions to Austria for our next tip, and the OFB Steigl Cup, as Bundesliga side Wolfsberger travel to 1.Liga side Lustenau in the final 16 of this competition.

The visitors have lost just one of their last five away from the Lavanttal-Arena, and ten goals scored in that time suggests that Nenad Bjelica's side have more than enough attacking quality to punish their lower league opponents here.

And six unbeaten from their last eight home and away indicates that the visitors will go into this encounter full of confidence and momentum, and desperate to book their place in the next round of this cup - with the silverware almost in sight.

Lustenau line up for this one sitting in fourth place in the second tier, but with just three wins from their last ten on their own patch, they aren't in the best of form ahead of this big game, and could struggle to contain the might of their guests.

Damir Canadi's side have kept only two clean sheets from their last 11 league games, and I think that those defensive weaknesses could be the difference between the two sides here.

The Reichshofstadion is never an easy place to travel to, but I think that the visitors are more than capable of grinding out a tough win here, and moving one step closer to cup glory.

Bet 2: Wolfsberger (AWAY) @ 1.9520/21
