Two of today's FTM selections go at Fakenham
Today's movers come from the meetings at Fakenham and Folkestone...
Trawling through this month's formbook you won't find many easier winners than Benny The Swinger, who notched last time out at Huntingdon. The seven-year-old came back to form with a bang on November 2nd, cruising from the front and recording an effortless 21-length victory against one of today's opponents, Peak Seasons. The handicapper has chucked an extra 15lbs his way after that effort, and punters seem to think that the extra weight plus a slightly stronger field will be enough to deny the selection a second win within a month. The drift is currently 3.55/2 from 2.6613/8 and he's our lay in the 13:30 Fakenham.
Staying at Fakenham we find our first runner for money in the 15:00, a mares' handicap chase. The one attracting all the attention is Midnight Macarena, a seven-year-old from the Lucy Wadham yard that has been backed in from 3.814/5 to 3.052/1. The selection was unlucky last time out (when also backed) falling when in the lead and still travelling well at Hereford. With the same market confidence today there seems every reason to believe that, given a clear round, she'll go close.
Ten minutes later we're over to Folkestone for a money horse in the 15:10. Reste Jeune wouldn't be the first runner you'd pick out on form (he's never won a race and has been beaten miles in most), but the collective brain of Betfair has forced his price in from 12.5n/a to 6.25/1. That collective brain is either a lot cleverer (highly likely) or a lot stupider (slightly possible) than the guys and gals at Follow The Money. We'll find out at about 15:15 when either the price move or the awful form will give aftertimers an inviting half-volley on the edge of the six-yard box.
