Donald has some good chances at Carlisle today

Tony McFadden brings you a Placepot permutation from Carlisle on Monday...

12:50- Tipsy Dara improved for joining the Nick Alexander yard last term and looked as good as ever on her seasonal reappearance, rallying well to win at Hexham on her return. Testing ground will not inconvenience Tipsy Dara and she is relied upon to see us through the opening leg.

13:20- Despite disappointing as favourite on his handicap debut last time, the unexposed Polarbrook, who had shaped well in novice hurdles last season, is given another chance. However, he isn't an obvious type to rely on, particularly with only seven runners declared, and we will add Rhymers Ha' to the perm. Lucinda Russell's charge looks to be well treated based on the pick of his efforts last term and should benefit from the drop back in trip.

13:55- Papa Caruso landed a bit of a touch when winning on his return from an absence at Newcastle last year and, though disappointing on his only subsequent start, he can go well fresh again. However, the four-runner affair is the Placepot-players enemy and we will add another selection in the hope of progressing. Rossini's Dancer disappointed last time, but he had won by a wide margin at Perth prior to that and we will take a chance that he can bounce back to form here.

14:25- Cappa Bleu would certainly be the one to beat if near his best, but he will surely have the Grand National as his ultimate aim this year and there has to be a suspicion that he won't be fully primed at this early stage of the season. Across The Bay has no such fitness concerns having won at Kelso recently, and Donald McCain's challenger will relish the testing conditions.

14:55- Imjoeking created a good impression on his racecourse debut here last month, travelling powerfully throughout the contest before sticking to his task well in the closing stages and securing a hard-fought victory. Providing those exertions haven't left their mark, Imjoekingthe ought to make an impact on his hurdling debut.

15:30- Jet Master and Kruzhlinin look the pair to concentrate on here. The former looks an obvious Placepot type, having finished second on his last four outings, but those efforts all came with the tongue-tie applied and with that aid left off today we will instead opt for Kruzhlinin. Now in the care of Donald McCain, Kruzhlinin looked progressive over hurdles last year and he has the potential to improve further now tackling the larger obstacles.
