Doublebarreljimmy has found the frame on four of his six starts in handicaps this term, most recently when second to Measured Angel at Sligo last month. That rival has since given the form a solid boost and, from a 2 lb lower mark, this could finally be the race (17:35) in which Doublebarreljimmy collects.
The unexposed Hazariban did well to overcome a steady pace when scoring on handicap debut at Gowran last time and looks one to keep on side from just a 6 lb higher mark in the apprentice handicap at 16:35. Boasting a fine middle-distance pedigree (by Kahyasi out of a mare who was placed in the Irish and Yorkshire Oaks), Hazariban should have plenty more to offer still from his lowly mark and could be the type to run up a sequence.
The Victoria Square Ulster Cesarewitch Handicap (19:05) is easily the most competitive race on the card, and the one to be interested in is dual-purpose performer Force of Habit. Dermot Weld's charge very much caught the eye on his first try at a marathon trip on the Flat when a never-nearer fifth at Dundalk earlier this month, and can be expected to finish a good deal closer off the same mark this evening.
