Transfer Talk: Carlo Ancelotti tipped for Man City move

Carlo Ancelotti could swap Madrid for Manchester in the summer

The biggest move today involves a manager who may want to swap Madrid for Manchester.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti could be on his way to Manchester City next season according to the Daily Mirror.

The former Chelsea boss is being widely tipped to leave the Bernabeu at the end of the current campaign, with Los Blancos' season currently unravelling after a sensational start.

They are still challenging for the La Liga title, but scraped into the last eight of the Champions League despite losing 4-3 at home to Schalke on Tuesday.

The former Milan chief is reportedly on the City short-list should they dispense with Manuel Pellegrini at the end of the season and former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon admits Ancelotti's position at the Spanish giants has become almost untenable.

He told talkSPORT: "Ancelotti's position is very difficult with handkerchiefs, protests at what they saw. Maybe he's thinking of leaving, I don't know. But I'm not sure the club or the coach know either."

Staying with City and Stevan Jovetic is a 12m target for Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan, according to the same paper.

The 25-year-old is reportedly unhappy at his lack of playing time after being axed from City's Champions League squad and is keen on a summer exit.

Juventus failed to sign the Montenegro hit-man on-loan in January but the Etihad club appear willing to take a big financial hit on the player and let him go for around 12m after spending 22m to sign him in 2013.

Across the City and Radamel Falcao's Manchester United future is up in the air after he was dropped into the Under-21s against Tottenham on Tuesday.

Having failed to shine while on loan with the Red Devils it seems likely that he will return to Monaco at the end of the season.

And the Sun reports that the Colombia marksman missed a day out with his United friends at Cheltenham races on Wednesday, suggesting further that he is not happy and will be gone in three month's time.

Finally Barcelona defender Dani Alves is discussing a three-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain, according to the Daily Mail.

The 31-year-old Brazil international will be out of contract with Barca in the summer and has hinted that he will leave the Nou Camp.

Several Premier League sides have expressed an interest in the experienced right-back but the player's agent, Dinorah Santana, has now confirmed that the former Sevilla ace is in "advanced talks" with another club and the player was in Paris on Tuesday.

Current PSG right-back Gregory van der Wiel has yet to agree terms on a new deal and so it may be that Alves replaces the Netherlands international at the Parc des Princes.
