ATP Western & Southern Open Betting: Drifting Bautista-Agut could be value against Monfils

Sean likes the price on Bautista-Agut today Sean likes the price on Bautista-Agut today

Tennis expert Sean Calvert was back among the winners yesterday and he likes a couple of attractively priced options in the Western & Southern Open on Wednesday...

Tuesday was a better day at the Western and Southern Open as the gusty conditions blew a few players off course, but it was a winning day for this column.

The over 22.5 total games eased home in the Ernie Gulbis/Ivan Dodig clash on Court 3 and those who risked Robby Ginepri would have been in the pay out queue too, as the wild card took down Dominic Thiem.

I also said yesterday that Gulbis and Dodig would be a good one for the set one 7-6 bet that I've been unlucky with lately and typically that came in on the one day I didn't go for it.

My second of two outrights rolled into the next round too when Stan Wawrinka made hard work of it, but prevailed over Benjamin Becker, while a fatigued Jo-Wilfried Tsonga exited tamely to Mikhail Youzhny.

There's plenty of scope for a few more set one 7-6 bets today, with three matches in particular appealing, and a treble on these three pays a cool 150149/1 on the Sportsbook if you're of a mind to go for the jackpot today.

Roger Federer couldn't muster a single break point against Tsonga in the Toronto final and although that's unlikely to repeat it does show that he doesn't break enough these days and Vasek Pospisil could take it all the way in their opener.

John Isner is due one and three of the five sets he's played against Marinko Matosevic have gone to tie breaks, which makes the 6.05/1 about one in the opening set look pretty generous.

I also suspect that Steve Johnson and Gulbis will go long and Ernie 7-6 there is also a decent option.

But for a more circumspect wager today I like the price drift on Roberto Bautista-Agut in his 01:30 UK time clash with the great showman Gael Monfils.

Now, I'm not sure it's even possible for an opponent to be more injured than Lamonf in any match and if this price drift on RBA is due to him tweeting a slightly blooded ankle last night it can be ignored.

Tennis players always have these little knocks, strains and pulls to contend with and it's a sure bet that there'll be something wrong with Monfils too.

The Frenchman was his usual up and down self in a scratchy win over Federico Delbonis in his first round, while RBA's struggles against Martin Klizan led to the sore ankle.

It hardly looks serious though and he's got most of today to rest before taking on Lamonf tonight.

The solid game of RBA should be too much for the showman and odds-against on the Spaniard is worth taking.

Andy Murray makes his first appearance of the year in Cincy at around 4pm UK time today after blowing a 3-0 lead in the final set against Tsonga in Toronto last week.

His opponent Joao Sousa is unlikely to cause Murray too many problems and the Brit should ease thorough in straight sets in conditions that will surely be too quick for Sousa, who struggled badly in round one.

Elsewhere, Sam Querrey has a puncher's chance against Tommy Robredo if he serves at his best and Yen Hsun Lu can push a not fully fit Tomas Berdych, with the Czech below par right now.

Recommended Bet
Back Bautista-Agut to beat Monfils at 2.1411/10

Best Cash Out Opportunity
Back Isner to win set one against Matosevic 7-6 at 6.05/1
