Will Sporing Kansas have the courage to win?

There was a winner in South America for Paul Robinson last night and he is going slightly north today as he feels that Kansas City have to be opposed at odds-on.

Sporting Kansas are riding high at the top of the Eastern Conference as last year's MLS runners up have won six of their last seven. They will be hoping to go one better this season and if they keep on playing how they have been, it will take a good team to stop them.

Interestingly though, five of those six victories were by a single goal margin and the same amount came on the road. The old saying 'There's no place like home' hasn't been quite true for Peter Vermes' side of late as they've won just one of their last five at Sporting Park and they haven't kept a clean sheet there since the beginning of May. 

It also has to be noted that while they've only been beaten once on home soil since September 2013, that defeat came at the hands of tonight's opponents.

Philadelphia Union are seventh in the Eastern Conference but they are only three points adrift of the all-important top five with plenty of games still to go. Following a disappointing start to their campaign, the 'Zolos' have really got their act together recently and they've now lost just one of their last seven.

Interim manager, Jim Curtin, has been the catalyst for the turnaround and he will be confident of his men not only continuing their good run, but also their scoring prowess. 

The Pennsylvanian based club have racked up 14 goals in half a dozen fixtures since he took charge and that includes three in a recent victory at New England.

The hosts are obviously a very strong outfit but Philadelphia are in good heart right now. All things considered, with Kansas City trading at around the 1.748/11 mark, I have to make them my lay of the day.
