Against All Odds: Santos' goal struggles to continue

I'm not sure the atmosphere will be quite this hot for this match

It's Brazilian Cup action for Paul Robinson again tonight as he feels the clash between Santos and Londrina will be low-scoring.

Santos v Londrina
Thursday August 14, 23:30 BST

Santos had made a decent start to their campaign but their form has tailed off in recent weeks. Four defeats from five in all competitions has dropped them to ninth in the league and trailing 2-1 in the Copa do Brasil ahead of today's second leg.

Oswaldo de Oliveira's side have been having trouble in front of goal as they netted just four times during that period and three of those came in one game. Four of their last five in front of their own fans have gone under 2.5 and it's worth noting that a 1-0 victory here would be enough to see them through to the next round.

Londrina operate three levels below their opponents so their victory in the first leg was somewhat of a surprise result. Santos did have a big game at Internacional just after that though so they weren't at full strength.

There is no doubt that Cludio Tencatti will send his men out to park the bus tonight given their lead and it will be interesting to see how long they can hold on. Given Santos' struggles in front of goal I wouldn't rule out a 0-0 half time score and the club from Parana will be buoyed by the fact that they kept two clean sheets in their last two away matches.

There is a good chance that this will be a low-scoring affair, so with over 2.5 goals trading at around the 1.748/11 mark, I have to make it my lay of the day.
