Jessie Harrington: trainer of Weather Watch
Races from both Wexford and Bellewstown make up today's Irish SmartPlays...
Lily's Star (17:50 Bellewstown) is a habitual slow-starter and doesn't have the greatest strike-rate, but that isn't uncommon at this level, while she has shaped well of late and is therefore given the verdict. Busalla should go well in his follow up attempt while Kalacan can be on the premises off this mark.
Drumlister (18:40 Wexford) scored over fences at Clonmel and over C&D last summer before taking advantage of lower hurdle mark to land Clonmel handicap over two and a half miles in September. He appears to have picked up where he left off last year and is preferred to Acapulco Gold and Whiskey And Red.
Finally, the 19:25 at Bellewstown is a difficult race to get a handle on, and it may be best to side with Weather Watch who improved no end for his debut when scoring at Tipperary last time, and this extra two furlongs should eke out more improvement. Knockcroghery usually comes to hand at this time of year as she proved when scoring at Tipperary a week ago, and ought to get involved again.
