Follow The Money: Get your Tartan on at Catterick

Have the FTM team pulled out a few winners?

Today's Follow The Money comes from the meetings at Catterick and Worcester.

Our first selection comes from Catterick in the 14:30 5f Mdn Stks where Birkacre has been on the drift, now trading at 4.57/2 from a previous 2.3611/8. On paper this race looks very open with a number of runners in with a shout including Birkacre the Dandy Man-filly who is carrying high expectations and hails from a yard who have struck with several newcomers this term. However, with Reet Thicknstrong and Rock N Rouge also in the mix, Berkacre is a far from a nailed-on choice. The former comes from Brian Smart's yard, who normally does very well with his sprinters and the latter is David Brown's Rock Of Gibraltar-filly who shows lots of appeal on paper.

We stay at Catterick for our next selection which comes in the 15:30 2mHcap where Tartan Jura has seen some solid support and now stands at a healthy 5.39/2 having been out at 6.611/2 previously. He improved for the step up to 2m when scoring at Goodwood last October, and has made frame plenty of times since. Although a poor performer at Pontefract last time out, he looks set to be in the mix again today and is due to score a win sooner or later.

We then move to Worcester for our final selection of the day and it comes in the 17:20 2m4f Hcap where Conellie has been steadily backed into 3.9n/a having been out at 5.49/2 earlier. He ended time for Bernard Llewellyn with a Ffos Las novice hurdle win in June 2011. Returned after a 24-month layoff at Ffos Las where he made a great impression running out a ready winner on handicap bow for his yard and looks to have more to offer yet. Conellie looks good for the win today as long as the quick turnaround hasn't taken too much out of him.
