Champions League and Europa League Treble: Bala Town too rusty

Bala Town are flying the Welsh flag in Europa League qualifying

With the qualifying process for both of Europe's major club competitions starting, Christian Crowther attempts to turn 5 into 36.90...

Ok, so Bayern Munich and Tottenham are a long way from joining the party, but some teams are already beginning their quest to make it to the hallowed group stages of Europe's top two competitions. That makes it time for the first multiple of the season.

Back Under 2.5 goals in FC Lusitans v EB Streymur @ 1.910/11 (Champions League, 18:30)
FC Lusitans are making their second successive appearance in the qualifying process for the Champions League after successfully defending their Andorran championship crown in 2012/13. While they eventually went on to get outclassed 8-0 in the away leg against far more experienced Maltese side Valletta last summer, the Andorrans more than held their own at home, going down 1-0. Faroese visitors Streymur may be slightly stronger on paper, but haven't scored an away goal in six prior away European qualifiers.

Back Karabakh to win away to Metalurg Skopje @ 2.25n/a (Europa League, 16:45)
This Europa League tie is a repeat of the 2010/11 match-up between the runners-up in the Azerbaijani Premier League, Karabakh, and Macedonia's second best in the form of Metalurg. On that occasion, the strength of the the Azerbaijani Premier League shone through, with Karabakh running out 5-2 winners on aggregate, dishing out a 4-1 thrashing in Baku. Despite making it through to the second round of qualifying last season by squeezing past Birkirkara on away goals without winning a match, Metalurg were then thrashed at home by Ruch Chorzow of Poland.

Back Levadia Tallinn to win away to Bala Town @ 2.01/1 (Europa League, 19:00)
Welsh side Bala Town make their first ever foray into European competition and will have their work cut out to get anything from the game. Their Estonian visitors have a rich pedigree in European qualification rounds, even reaching the UEFA Cup first round proper in 2006/07 before going out to Newcastle. While the Welsh part-timers only returned to training two weeks prior to this fixture, Levadia are currently top of the Estonian top tier after 16 games, meaning they will be far the sharper side in this match-up.
