Where is today's money going?
Today's Follow The Money comes from the meetings at Nottingham and Newcastle.
We start Nottingham where in the opener at 14.20 there has been a move for Conrad Allens Mr Paranoia. The two year colt was well backed on debut at Lingfield and ran a race full of promise. Slowly away he was adrift from the rest and running green in last before staying on well to finish third. The first two that day were first and second in the betting so the form does has some substance to it and although it could be argued todays maiden is a step up in class, it's clear that connections feel Mr Paranoia would have benefitted hugely from that spin around Lingfield, the price reflects that having been backed from 16.015/1 into 7.87/1.
Moving north now to Newcastle where there has been a negative move in the 14.40 for Rocky Two, now 4.03/1 from 2.41n/a. Michael Dod's colt has had the three runs to date, being sent off favourite on his last two attempts. His first two runs were very promising but last time disappointed when beaten around four lengths over course and distance. It's clear to see from the drift this morning that users feel there made be one or two in the field todays that can improve past Rocky Two.
Back at Nottingham for the handicap at 15.20, a race which has seen a move in the form of Ascription, having been backed from 5.65n/a into 3.814/5. Ed Dunlop's inmate was making his handicap debut last time out when a well backed favourite, in the end winning the race by a head, saying on well. Its worth noting that the first and second that day pulled six lengths clear of the third so users this morning must believe the eight pound penalty is fair and that he has a bit in hand.
