Timeform Irish SmartPlays: Tuesday May 7

We're predicting a good day for the O'Briens

Timeform pick out three bets from Navan this evening.

Just Pretending (18:35) was badly in need of the experience in heavy-ground maiden at Roscommon in October. However, she put up a much better performance when third at Dundalk on reappearance and remains with her best days ahead of her: she can get the better of well-bred newcomer Athenaire and Cocktail Hour this time.

The listed Salsabil Stakes at 19:05 is the big race of the day. Magical Dream won a seven-furlong Galway maiden in July and got back on track when winning Group 3 at The Curragh on his final two-year-old start. He Should stay this far and obvious claims despite a penalty and, with cheekpieces tried on this reappearance, he can overcome Alive Alive Oh and Morga.

The 19:35 is an interesting race. Sun on The Run looked a horse to follow when scoring on debut over six furlongs in March, while Dibayani has the beating of Canary Row on recent listed race form, but preference is for Leading Light, a 520,000 guineas brother to Warwick Avenue, who showed signs of greenness when landing a Tipperary maiden in the autumn, and still holds a Derby entry.
