Follow The Money: Three bank holiday racing bets

Today's bets begin at Cartmel

Today's Follow the Money movers come from the meetings at Cartmel, Redcar and Leicester

There have been a few market moves in the Grand Veterans' Handicap Chase at Cartmel today (15:40), but the one that takes our eye is on Neptune Equester. The dramatic 25.024/1 in to 10.09/1 has transformed the Brian Ellison inmate from no-hoper to live contender as far as the market is concerned. The stable is bang in form and the selection, with less miles on the clock than most 10-year-olds, definitely has the ability to go close.

Brasingaman Eric only missed out by a head (with 10 lengths back to the third) when running over the same distance two starts back. Swapping Musselburgh for Redcar today, the six-year-old looks sure to put in a bold bid to go one better with market confidence, in from 7.16n/a to 4.67/2, and conditions, on his side.

Playbill, a daughter of Medicean Paper running in the 17:10 at Leicester, has been on the slide this morning settling at 5.24/1 after an initial 3.55/2 was matched. The Stoute/Moore combination behind this runner looks initially promising, but further inspection reveals strong opposition in the form of Fersah, and a weak looking make-up to the selection's previous outing, a class six auction maiden on the all-weather. At roughly 4-1 she's worth taking on.
