Our first SmartPlay comes in the opening race as we select Rebel Fitz to come out on top in a fascinating beginners' chase. Michael Winters' stable star can boast some very smart hurdles form to his name, his win in the valuable Galway Hurdle being a particularly memorable success, and he was not discredited when faced with an extremely stiff task behind Hurricane Fly in the Rabobank Champion Hurdle at Punchestown last time. He looks like an interesting recruit to chasing and can stake this on his way to bigger and better things.

Turban got off the mark over fences at Cork last time, winning with plenty in hand, and he is capable of supplementing that success in the 18:15. Useful as a hurdler, the lightly-raced six-year-old looks like making an even bigger impact over the larger obstacles based on the style of his recent win and he is obviously in the right hands, trained by the incomparable Willie Mullins. This represents a different test to the one he faced over two miles last time, but his main rivals have even greater stamina doubts and it could be worth siding with Turban.

The contest at 19:50 looks like a competitive affair, but Irish Reel may offer a bit of value at a double-figure price. Harry Rogers' mare made a promising return to action at Tipperary last time and, with the benefit of that run behind her, may improve sufficiently to reverse the form with Benalex Park. She arguably did too much too soon out in front at Tipperary but the booking of top jockey Pat Smullen is a positive and she appeals as a value proposition.
