Ryan Moore will be aboard Mission Approved at Pontefract.
Timeform analyse the field for an intriguing handicap, staged over a mile, at Pontefract on Tuesday...
Melvin The Grate is a well-bred colt who has progressed well in short career to date, winning 7f maiden/handicap at Kempton and closing at line when third at Lingfield (7f again) last time. More to come up at 1m.
Mission Approved got off the mark at third time of asking in Warwick maiden last autumn and looked useful prospect when readily landing a 7f Lingfield handicap on return to action. 1m will suit and yard in flying form.
Mystical Man showed much improved form when making all to get off mark over 6f here last July. Raced keenly and finished tailed off on 1m Doncaster reappearance and bit to prove on back of that.
Greeleys Love improved to make winning handicap bow for Kevin Ryan last autumn. Bounced back from poor reappearance when second at Windsor (1m) last week and claims if blinkers see him find a bit more.
Stepping Ahead finished second on debut in 1m AW maiden last November and duly stepped up on that when forging clear to lead a 1m Nottingham maiden on return by 7 lengths. Another who is potentially useful.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Mission Approved
2. Melvin The Grate
3. Stepping Ahead
Timeform Verdict: Just a handful of runners but it's a really interesting race. The promising Mission Approved gets the vote with the Stoute team in such good form, but he bumps into a couple of others with plenty of potential in the shape of Melvin The Grate and Stepping Ahead and is unlikely to have things all his own way.
