Toto Skyllachy was runner-up in this contest last year having won a C&D handicap on his previous start, and landed that corresponding event again on most recent outing. Sure to make a bold bid to defy a penalty.

Fort Belvedere ran twice for Andre Fabre in France in 2011, winning minor event at Longchamp (1m). Last of 7 on belated return for new yard at Ripon last month, but should do better with that behind him.

Shadowtime is something of a course specialist, winning here 6 times over the years. As good as ever when second on last month's Pontefract return, but only third to Toto Skyllachy over C&D last week.

Bling King was trained in France in 2012, winning a minor event over 1m. Has improved with each run for new yard, chasing home Toto Skyllachy over C&D last time, and now 6 lb better off for a 4 lengths beating.

Lady Macduff improved to land 1m Haydock handicap in August. Placed 3 times afterwards, but below best this year, and behind a trio of these when fourth over C&D last time.

Carazam was useful at up to 1m for Tommy Stack in 2010, and made a winning debut for new yard at Lingfield in March. Better form when beating Charitable Act at Sandown last time, and big chance with a repeat.

Mujaadel resumed winning ways at Wolverhampton (7f) in March and best effort in some time when winning 7.5f handicap here last week. Claims under a penalty, but longer trip is a concern now.

Timeform View: Toto Skyllachy was second in this under a penalty last year, and is respected in his bid to go one better under similar circumstances, having beaten Bling King over C&D last time. He won't find it easy to concede weight to Sandown-winner Carazam, though, and the last named gets a narrow vote.
