Timeform Daily: Monday, Doncaster 15:50

Monday's Race of The Day comes from Doncaster

Timeform guide you through this interesting three-year-old handicap.

Derwent is a half-brother to smart Coventry winner Three Valleys. Didn't quite kick on at 2 yrs after winning 6f Newbury maiden and finishing second in Ffos Las nursery. Has been gelded and steps up in trip.

Dusky Queen won a 7f maiden here at 2 yrs. That may prove her best trip having shaped well over 1m at Ripon on return before her effort flattened out.

Grandorio recorded his second win over 1m at Newcastle when bolting up on reappearance last week, dictating and quickening clear 2f out. Bit more depth to this race but leading claims all the same under penalty.

Staffhoss has done all his racing on polytrack so far, winning 7f Lingfield maiden in December. Form of latest Wolverhampton fourth is strong but may benefit from further than 1m now.

Bartack boasts some strong 2-y-o form and returned after gelding operation with length defeat to thriving Lilac Lace at Redcar (1m), hampered final 1f. Makes plenty of appeal.

Great Demeanor has done most of his racing on polytrack, winning again over 7f at Kempton last time. Looked to have run of the race, though, and more needed back in handicap on turf now.

Fraserburgh dotted up in 7f Southwell maiden in March and return to that track may be in his favour judged on subsequent efforts in turf handicaps, well placed and only third at Yarmouth last time.

Llaregyb is related to smart 1m/1m performer Bushman. Promise in 7f/1m maidens, racing freely on return at Newbury (1m), and could do better now contesting handicap.

Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Bartack
2. Grandorio
3. Llaregyb

Timeform view: Grandorio may be a warm order after last week's Newcastle romp but the vote goes to Bartack who ran into one in the shape of the thriving Lilac Lace at Redcar and looked a shade unlucky that day in any case. Llaregyb is also interesting on his handicap debut.
