Apache Glory runs at Doncaster today
Today's Follow The Money comes from Wolverhampton and Doncaster...
We kick things off in the 15:25 6f Handicap at Wolverhampton, where Macaabra has been well supported from 3.814/5 in to 2.447/5. James Tate's filly showed significant improvement to make all in a seven furlong maiden at Catterick last time and the form of that race looks solid as the fourth home has won since. Go Far, second in that race, runs at Doncaster earlier in the day and a good run would boost confidence further. The selection looks to have plenty of speed so the drop back to six furlongs shouldn't be a problem and she may prove to be better than the mark of 64 that she has been allocated for her handicap debut.
Moving on to the 16:25 7f Handicap at Doncaster, Shesastar has been well backed from 9.28/1 in to 6.611/2. This 5-year-old mare has course form figures of 113731 and races off a mark four pounds lower than her last winning mark, which was over course and distance. Her overall form record suggests that she needs a few runs to get going at the beginning of her campaign so it may be that recent outings at Thirsk and Musselburgh have put her spot on for today on return to her favourite track.
We finish at Doncaster for today's lay which comes in the 17:00 1m2f Handicap, where Apache Glory has drifted from 3.39/4 out to 4.03/1. John Stimpson's mare has been in excellent form recently, rattling off a hat-trick of wins at Wolverhampton, Lingfield and Beverley. She has been put up three pounds for her latest win and although she remains well handicapped on some of her old form, she may find one or two too good today based on the market drift. There are a couple of less exposed rivals in the line-up and they may well be capable of finding enough improvement to put the selection's winning streak to an end.
