Follow The Money: It's Justice Day at Ascot

Justice Day runs at 14:00 at Ascot today

Today's Follow The Money movers come from the meetings at Southwell and Ascot...

Today's lay comes in the 14:00 Ascot where there's a hot little two year old race with Justice Day on the drift. He's been matched at 2.427/5 but now trades at 2.942/1 as he looks set to lose his place in the market as favourite. He won his only start in good style, beating a subsequent winner, however that was trained Richard Hannon who trains joint favourite Anticipated so the stable have a good line on Justice Day. The money for that one certainly looks significant and with 3 of his rivals undefeated Justice Day is surely worth taking on at these prohibitively short odds.

For our next selection we go to Southwell where Pure Faith looks thrown in on decent ground in the 14:40. He's been backed from 8.88/1 in to 4.94/1 for Summer jumps specialist Peter Bowen and the money would suggest the horse is fit off this 6 month break. He's ran some really good races in chases, notably a second in the Old Roan Chase 18 months ago. He has shown himself to be around a 140 horse plenty and today runs off 132 in class 3, something he hasn't done over fences. He has a good record on sharp, flat tracks and has to be given a strong chance here.

Staying with Southwell, in the 17:30 there has been heavy support for Brass Monkey who has been backed from 5.79/2 in to 3.39/4. He makes his debut for the Charlie Longsdon stable having left Sarah Humphrey and this is the first time he encounters decent ground since winning a bumper at this course. Today is his handicap debut and given what he achieved in his bumpers on a sound surface he could well be thrown in like the money suggests.
