Epsom Derby: Telescope to work at Lingfield

Sir Michael Stoute: Trainer of Telescope.

Epsom Derby contender Telescope will head to Lingfield for a racecourse gallop on Wednesday as he aims to book his Classic ticket...

The Sir Michael Stoute-trained colt, rated 104P by Timeform, was forced to miss his intended reappearance in last week's Dante Stakes at York after grazes he sustained on his legs became infected.

However, the Telescope showed he was none the worse for that mishap when impressing in a gallop at Newmarket on Sunday morning.

Stoute was satisfied with Telescope's condition on Monday morning and he will now go to Lingfield for a spin before racing on Wednesday.

Owners Highclere Thoroughbred Racing tweeted: "Telescope is in good form this morning following yesterday's work and Sir Michael confirms that he will now head to Lingfield on Wednesday.

"Telescope will work at 1pm."

2000 Guineas hero Dawn Approach currently heads the market at 2.427/5, with Telescope available to back at 9.08/1.
