Today's SmartPlays come from Wolverhampton
We head to Wolverhampton for today's three SmartPlays.
Climaxfortackle (14:30) has been placed on all four outings in recent months and his consistency may be rewarded with a long-overdue success. A dual winner at this track over 8.6 furlongs, Derek Shaw's mare has fairly rattled home when only finding one rival too good in a pair of course-and-distance events earlier this month and though she made her customary slow start when third at Lingfield subsequently, she holds strong claims of getting her head in front here.
John Gosden's Pategonia (16:00) is a well-bred, lightly-raced sort who has been found a decent opportunity of getting off the mark at the third attempt in the maiden for four-year-olds and upwards. Representing a yard that has already had success with similar types this year, the step up to this extended mile should hold no terrors and he looks capable of improving on what he's shown in a brace of seven furlong events so far.
Spinning Ridge (17:00) is on a long losing run, but he has given evidence a return to the winner's circle may be near with a pair of third placed efforts from this much-reduced mark in recent weeks. Not beaten far on either occasion, his effort when chasing home Mubtadi over a mile at Lingfield a week ago was particularly eye-catching and suggests he's about to strike.
