Follow The Money: Punters keen on Steve and Jack but not Michel

Will we finish with a win at Lingfield?

Today's movers come from the meetings at Wincanton, Towcester and Lingfield.

We start the day at Wincanton for the 15:10 Veterans' Handicap Chase, where we find our negative mover Michel Le Bon who has drifted to 3.55/2 from 3.02/1. This 10-year-old gelding is relatively unexposed for a veteran having only had ten starts so far, five over fences, and winning one of those. However, he ran poorly, pulling up, in the Welsh National earlier this month, and with some tough sorts in opposition the market drift suggests he may struggle today.

Over to Towcester for our first positive of the day, Viva Steve has seen strong support, moving in to 5.95/1 from a high of 11.010/1 in the 15:20. This gelding by Flemensfirth is having his second start today and first run over hurdles. He showed promise on his first start finishing half-a-length back in second in a bumper in November. Mick Channon's charge faces a short price favourite in competition but the market suggests he's in with a shot.

Heading to Lingfield for the 16:30 Apprentice Handicap, we have seen consistent support for Jack My Boy from 4.47/2 in to 3.211/5. David Evans' runner is a relative newcomer to the all-weather having his eighth start today, compared to 38 on the turf where he's notched up five wins. Although he hasn't won since May 2010, this six-year-old gelding has run well on both his starts this year, coming second at Wolverhampton over 7f and second here over 6f. Today's step back up to 7f should suit after being outpaced but staying on strongly at the end on his last run, and running off the same mark today, he should be fighting it out at the finish.
