Two of today's FTM selections run at Fontwell
Today's Follow The Money movers come from the meetings at Fontwell and Nass...
Our first selection runs in the handicap chase at 15:15 in which Time To Think has been steadily supported in to 4.67/2 from 5.95/1. Following a nine month break, the mare made her seasonal debut in mid-December at Lingfield when only emptying out in the final couple of furlongs. Andrew Thornton takes over in the saddle for a stable with which he has been successful for one in five rides at the track. With no worries about trip or going and off her lowest mark since last January we have to put Time To Think up today.
Over the water now to Naas for our lay which comes in the shape of Don Cossack in the novice hurdle at 15:35 who has drifted from 3.55n/a out to 4.67/2. Following a highly successful bumper career, Gordon Elliott's charge was expected to be one of this year's top novice hurdlers and this certainly looked to be the case when the gelding landed the spoils with consummate ease on his seasonal debut back in November. Since then though he seems he have lost his way with a fall at Navan followed by a poor jumping display when finishing second at Punchestown. A competitive Grade 2 race such as this is not the place for a confidence booster and for that reason we are happy to take Don Cossack on.
We're back to Sussex now for our last selection and in the 16:50 Ya Hafed has shortened from 12.011/1 in to 8.88/1. It has been rare for Sheena West's gelding to run a bad race and Ya Hafed returns to the scene of arguably his best ever run when second of 12 behind Invicta Lake. With a 6lb turnaround against that rival today for a four length defeat and just the favourite, Priest Island, with a much more obvious chance of success, this is one to back at what is still, in our opinion, a decent price.
