Timeform Radio Tips: A million reasons to back Barlow

Barlow is fancied to win at Sandown.

A case in terms of handicapping can be made for most of the seven runners in Lingfield's 14:30 contest but the crucial factor on the day could well be tactics, and Cyflymder is tipped to take advantage of an easy lead. A steadily-run affair would work against several of these, in particular morning favourite Flavius Victor, and with the likelihood of a tactical advantage David Griffiths' gelding looks too big at current odds of 7. He has also dropped to his last winning mark, arrives in form, and has a good record at the track.

The jumps cards this afternoon look difficult for punting purposes, but Barlow does look to have an outstanding chance in Sandown's 16:30. He's much less exposed than the majority of his rivals, boasts some relatively strong form in similar events, and hails from a stable that are flying at present. Barlow's price has eroded somewhat throughout the morning, but I'll be surprised if he doesn't go very close today and 3.8 still looks a shade too big to me.
