Racing returns to the Fibresand at Southwell
Racing is back at Southwell! To help you find a winner, Timeform provide you with a runner-by-runner guide to a class 4 handicap...
Sound Amigo Made an excellent start to his career in 2011, winning 4 times, and better form in defeat last 3 4-y-o outings. Effective on this surface and can go well fresh, so considered on reappearance.
Waking Warrior Better than ever when adding to tally in a Wolverhampton handicap (5f) a month ago. Not in the same form back there latest, but had earlier built up a very solid fibresand record.
Sans Loi Quickly developed into a fairly useful juvenile, but largely struggled in a light 3-y-o campaign for Alan McCabe. Capable fresh, and dropped 3 lb for return having joined Brian Ellison.
Aubrietia Can boast a very impressive strike rate for this yard, his latest Wolverhampton success number 6 for connections. 3 lb rise for latest win fair, and the one to beat if as effective on fibresand.
Bandstand Resumed progress when scoring twice over C&D last year (including this race) and back to that level when runner-up at Newcastle in September. Not so good since, but returns here on last winning mark.
Burnhope Off mark at fourth attempt in maidens at Lingfield a year ago and took a big leap forward in first-time cheekpieces when adding to that in a Kempton handicap 2 weeks ago. More needed back here.
Mazovian Hard to catch right, seeming to reserve best for fibresand, notching fourth win over C&D in July. Just ticking over of late, but return to this venue may perk him up.
Dickie le Davoir Has won 7 times over this trip, taking advantage of the strong pace when getting up late at Wolverhampton in November. Back on track there last week and effective here, but isn't one to trust.
Masked Dance Well backed when resuming winning ways in the mud at Ascot (6f) in May. Potentially well treated following barren spell since, but mixed form on this surface earlier in his career.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Waking Warrior
2. Sound Amigo
3. Aubrietia
Timeform View: Aubrietia has been in terrific order on polytrack of late, but this is her course debut, so Waking Warrior and the returning Sound Amigo and put up against the field, with the former preferred.
