Timeform Daily: Thursday, Huntingdon 15:45

Thursday's Race of The Day comes from Huntingdon

Timeform give their thoughts on this Class 2 handicap hurdle.

Bakbenscher is a useful chaser who landed gamble off reduced hurdle mark in heavy-ground 2m handicap at Haydock in December. Similar form when third at Newbury (21f) a week later, but is creeping back up weights.

Quaddick Lake has been progressive since joining this yard, gaining third win of season when beating Ulis de Vassy at Wincanton in December. Nothing wrong with placed effort completed start since, either.

Baby Shine is a dual bumper winner who developed into a pretty useful novice hurdler last term, but hasn't returned at the top of her game, stretched by 3m in Kempton listed race in November. Handicap bow.

Romeo Americo is a three-time hurdles winner this season, but easily his best effort yet when runner-up in well-contested 21f handicap at Kempton a month ago. 4 lb rise for that defeat isn't ideal.

Un Bon P'tit Gars shaped well on hurdling debut in the spring, and unbeaten both starts since 5 months apart in 2m novice events at Uttoxeter. Type to go on improving now handicapping with 2m likely to suit.

Hayjack proved progressive in bumpers for Venetia Williams in 2010/11 and made a promising start to hurdling career the following season, off the mark at Uttoxeter (2m). More to come on return if all is well.

Kingcora was a useful juvenile hurdler in France in 2011, and though nowhere near that level in 3 hurdles outings for this yard, last month's Cheltenham effort was a step in the right direction.

Art Professor was fitted with first-time blinkers when back-to-form fifth of 24 in 2m conditionals handicap at Cheltenham Festival. Below form in 4 starts since, but creeping back towards last winning mark.

Phare Isle is a strong traveller who gained sole hurdles success at Fakenham in January 2011. Has won over fences in interim and has posted placed efforts back over timber since, but isn't one for maximum faith.

Teshali is winless since taking a 2m novice at Uttoxeter in September 2011, and offered little on hurdles return for this yard at Sandown, or on the AW recently.

Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Un Bon P'tit Gars
2. Quaddick Lake
3. Bakbenscher

Timeform view: Quaddick Lake, Bakbenscher and Romeo Americo all arrive here on the back of solid placed efforts in handicap company, but the unexposed Un Bon P'tit Gars surely has more to offer at this trip, and can improve past that trio.
